Appliance Parts Remanufacturer CoreCentric Solutions Implements Wireless Warehouse Management System (WMS)
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
GLENDALE HEIGHTS, IL , July 14 2011 — A new wireless warehouse management system installed at appliance parts remanufacturer CoreCentric Solutions (www.CoreCentricSolutions.com) is enabling it to expand storage capacity and inventory, while improving customer service.“Our customers – which include home appliance, fitness equipment and HVAC retailers and manufacturers worldwide – depend on us to have a robust inventory, fill orders quickly and accurately, and provide exemplary customer service,” explained Badal R. Wadia, CoreCentric Solutions President and CEO. “We chose WithoutWire Warehouse based on its ability to improve the movement and storage of materials in our warehouse, provide real-time and web-based reporting, and expedite transactions.”
WithoutWire Warehouse is a Microsoft-based warehouse management system from Appolis Mobile Business Solutions (www.Appolis.com) that helps companies improve efficiencies in inventory and labor optimization.
At CoreCentric Solutions, the system is helping streamline and organize processes, and improve picking, packing, put-away and receiving processes by linking the company’s warehouse workers to its enterprise software solution via wireless handheld devices. The devices tell workers where to pick, put away, count or move product. Because every movement is recorded, they are more accountable for everything that moves out of the warehouses, thus improving service levels.
The new system also has allowed CoreCentric Solutions to convert some of its bin storage to pallet storage. Wadia estimates the change will net the company 25% more storage capacity and 15% more floor space in its Chicago area warehouses, which stock and process orders for remanufactured appliance parts for leading consumer brands, including Bosch®, Dacor®, Electrolux®, GE®, Jenn-Air®, Kenmore®, KitchenAid®, LG®, Maytag®, NordicTrack®, Proform®, Thermador® and Whirlpool®.
“The demand for remanufactured components for the consumer electronics, HVAC, lighting, automotive and telecommunications industries is growing. Modernizing our warehouse capabilities is one way we can broaden our value-added service to these new markets and industries,” he added.
